Our OSG Weekly Update is sent out once a week to provide you with the most up to date information on what is happening at O. S. Geiger School.
Our Terry Fox Run was a huge success! We were so proud to see our students giving their all during the run and sharing donations to help fund cancer research. With the generous donations we received so far, OSG raised more than our goal of $1000.00 to be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation! Thank you to our teacher and student team that planned this wonderful event.

Arrival and Dismissal
Our school hours are:
Mon-Thurs: 8:00 AM-2:30 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM-12:00 PM
It is very important that students arrive at school on time and are ready to come in their designated door at the back of the school for gr. 1-6 and the door with the stairs for EES, PLP and kindergarten when the bell rings at 8:00 AM. Teachers will open the doors for their class and then are required to accompany their students to the classroom so students are supervised and to begin learning time. Teachers are unable to wait for late students at the doors. If your child is late, they will need to come to the office.
Dismissal time is 2:30 PM at your child’s designated door. If you arrive at the office just prior to 2:30, you will be directed to your child’s designated door for pickup.
Photo Days - September 22-23
On September 22 and 23, Lifetouch photographers will be at the school to take individual photos of each student. You will then have the option to purchase photos from Lifetouch. Photo retakes, if needed, will be on October 28.

Tuesday, September 22
Grades 2, 3, 4, 6, Tues/Thurs kinder, EES, PLP
Wednesday, September 23
Grades 1, 5, Mon/Wed kinder
Open House - September 24
On September 24 from 4:30 PM-6:30 PM, you are invited to attend a Welcome Back to School Open House at the school. You are now able to sign up in your MyCBE account for a time slot to come to the school on September 25 to visit your child’s classroom, meet their teacher and tour the school.
Orange Shirt Day - Tuesday, September 29
Please join us in wearing orange on Tuesday, September 29. Students will spend time learning about the history of the residential school system and will honour Indigenous people in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Wednesday, September 30.
National Day for TRC & Orange Shirt Day Events
All CBE staff, students, families, friends, and neighbors are invited to continue learning and show support at the 5th annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation & Orange Shirt Day event taking place at the Confluence Historic Site on Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 9-10:30 a.m. This important community gathering is a collaboration between the City of Calgary, CBE, Calgary Catholic School District, Calgary Police Service, Calgary Fire Department, and The Confluence.
