Dear OSG Families, 

As we enter the final school week of September, we have many important events that are coming up this week! 

Photo Day is Coming! 

Lifetouch Photography will be at the school this week on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 23 and 24, to take individual student photos. Please see the weekly update email from your child's teacher to find out what day their class will be taking pictures. 

Open House 

Our Welcome Back Open House is on Thursday, September 25. You can log into your MyCBE account to book a time to visit your child’s classroom, meet their teacher and tour the school. When you log in, you will follow these steps to book a time: 

1.     Log into you MyCBE account 

2.     Click on the pink tile that says Book and Manage Meeting Times 

3.     Click Book a Conference 

4.     Choose the conference date: Thursday, September 25, 2025 

5.     Choose the 30 minute time slot that you want to come and save 

It is important to note that this is not an individual conference with only you and the teacher as teachers are still getting to know their students. We will have individual conferences in November. 

Terry Fox Day and Run 

OSG will be proudly taking part in the 2025 Terry Fox School Run, scheduled to take place on Friday, September 26 at 10:30am. We are excited to share this community activity with the students of O.S Geiger.  

This year's Terry Fox Challenge will be to raise $1000 at O.S Geiger School. We are encouraging each student to bring a ‘Toonie for Terry’ or any other donation amount to which it is greatly appreciated! Students who are unable to bring in donations are still welcome to participate in the event. If you do send a donation, please have the student give the money to his/her classroom teacher and the money will be donated to the Terry Fox Foundation to support finding a cure for cancer.  

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Event 

 All CBE staff, students, families, and friends are invited to continue their learning and show their support on Tuesday, Sept. 30 (9 - 10:30 a.m.) at the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation & Orange Shirt Day event taking place at the Confluence Historic Site. This important event is a collaboration between the City of Calgary, CBE, Calgary Catholic School District, Calgary Police Service and Calgary Fire Department.

School Shirts are Back! 

Our online store for O.S. Geiger T-shirts and sweaters is open again for any families who wish to purchase. It is completely optional to buy a school shirt and sizing samples will be available to look at during the Welcome Back Open House on Thursday, Sept 25.  

If you choose to purchase, your order must be completed online and include your child's name and teacher. Orders are open until Oct 3, 2025 and will be delivered to the school around October 28.

Online Forms 

If you have not already done so, please log into your MyCBE  account to access the School Engage application to complete the following 3 forms that are REQUIRED for each of your children. If you do not have  a MyCBE account, on the MyCBE page click on Create a MyCBE Account. For online help, refer to MyCBE - Creating an Account (includes instructions and a video).

To complete these forms: 

1.     sign in to your MyCBE account 

2.     click on the SchoolEngage (Online Forms and School Registration) icon 

3.     Click on your child’s name on the left side of the screen (if you are using a phone, you may need to click on the 3 lines on the top left corner for the names to drop down) 

4.     select the form 

5.     complete or review and update the form 

6.     click on Submit to send the form electronically to the school 

7.     repeat steps 4-6 for each form 

8.     repeat for each child
