Dear OSG Families, 

As we are experiencing colder weather, students need to come to school wearing warm jackets, hats and mittens or gloves. We have MANY of these items, especially jackets, in our Lost and Found that have been sadly forgotten about. If your child is missing an item, please encourage them to look in the lost and found and connect with their teacher, if needed, to reconnect them with their lost items.

Our next School Council meeting is tomorrow, Monday, November 4 at 6:00 PM. We will be reviewing achievement and well-being data and sharing the learning that is happening in classrooms.

Child and Youth Well-Being Family and Caregiver Fall/Winter Series 2024-2025 

The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join us in a pre-recorded and live online series focusing on child and youth well-being. These sessions will be hosted in partnership with experts from Alberta Health Services and Recovery Alberta and will explore topics such as Peer Pressure, Healthy Relationships, Mental Health for Highly Sensitive Teens, and navigating Parent-Teen relationships. 

In the attached document below, you will find the Child and Youth Well-Being, Family & Caregiver Fall Series resources. There are both live sessions that parents/guardians can sign up for and recorded sessions for them to access when convenient. 

The first upcoming live session is on November 20 at 1:00-3:00 PM and is titled, “Can we Talk: Healthy Relationships.

Learning Conferences 

This month, we will be having our first Student Learning Conferences of the year on November 28 and 29. You will be able to sign up for a 15 minute individual conference time with your child’s teacher to discuss your child’s academic progress at school. Registration to sign up for a conference time will open on November 21 in your MyCBE account. The times for conferences are: 

Thursday, November 28  

Kindergarten: 8:00 AM-7:30 PM **NO SCHOOL FOR KINDERGARTEN on this day 

Grades 1-6: 3:30 PM-7:30 PM **This is a regular school day for students in grades 1-6 

Friday, November 29 

Kindergarten-Grade 6: 8:00 AM-1:00 PM **NO SCHOOL FOR ALL STUDENTS on this day
