Dear OSG Families,

It was wonderful to see our amazing students at school this week and we had so much Halloween fun on Friday!

Grade 6 Vaccines

On Wednesday, November 5, our school nurse and her team will be at O.S. Geiger to complete the Grade 6 vaccination program. Consent forms were sent home with students in the beginning of October and are due back to the school no later than Monday, November 3, 2025. If you have not already done so, please return your consent form to the school as soon as possible. Questions regarding this vaccination program can be directed to our school nurse, Joan Xie, at 403-944-7029 or joan.xie@primarycarealberta.ca

School Council

Our next School Council meeting is tomorrow, Monday, November 3 at 6:00 PM. You are invited to join this meeting at the school or online using this link: Join the meeting now

Parents and community members are important partners in public education. At School Council meetings, you have the opportunity to make significant and meaningful contributions to the learning opportunities provided to our students.

Through the Education Act Alberta Education defines school councils as a collective association of parents, secondary students, the principal, teachers, and community representative(s) whose purpose is to advise the principal and the Board of Trustees respecting matters related to the school. School councils have legislated advisory and decision-making authority defined within the Education Act and the School Councils Regulation 94/2019.

We hope to see you there! Please note, this meeting is with our School Council Executive and school administration. Teachers will not be present.

Photo Re-Takes

If your child missed Photo Day in September or you would like to have their pictures re-taken, Lifetouch photographers will be here on November 24 for Photo Re-takes. Please connect with your child’s teacher if you would like their photo taken this day so they are sure to send them at photo time.

Volunteers Needed

There are many classes booking field trips for this year. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit the office with a picture ID and we can help you get the volunteer process started. This process may take up to several weeks to complete, so come as soon as you can so you are ready to go when a field trip date comes up.

If you already are a confirmed volunteer and are willing to support a class other than your child’s class to have enough volunteers for a field trip, please let us know! Without enough volunteers, classes may need to cancel trips.
