On Friday, buddy classes teamed up to learn together for Community Friday. This Friday, we engaged in learning about Treaty 7 and the Blackfoot language. We listened to stories about Napi, learned these and other words in Blackfoot and played a game to help us remember them!

Please read on for some important updates. 

Communication With Teachers 

If you need to connect with your child’s teacher, please send them an email or call the office to set up a meeting time or to request a phone call. Teachers outside before and after school are unable to engage in conversations as they are on supervision duty to ensure student safety.  

Student Led Conferences – March 19-20 

On March 19 and 20, we will having our next learning conferences at the school. These will be Student Led Conferences with your child taking the lead in the classroom and in the Music room to share with you the learning they are engaged in at school. You will be able to sign up for a conference day and time, starting on Thursday, March 12. Information about how to book a conference will be emailed out this week.  

Here are the dates and times for these Student Led Conferences: 

Thursday, March 19 

Kindergarten: 8:00 AM – 7:30 PM – There is NO SCHOOL FOR KINDERGARTEN on this day 

Grades 1-6: 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM – This is a REGULAR SCHOOL DAY for students in grades 1-6. 

Friday, March 20 

Kindergarten – Grade 6: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM – There is NO SCHOOL for all students on this day. 

Enrollment for the 2026-27 School Year 

We will soon begin planning for the 2026-27 school year.  

-If your child will be attending O. S. Geiger School next year, you do not need to do anything as your child’s enrollment will automatically continue.  

**If your child will be in gr. K-6 next year and will NOT be attending O. S. Geiger School next year, please respond to this email as soon as possible to let us know where your child will be attending school next year. 

-If your child is in grade 6 THIS year in our regular program and you live in Castleridge or Cornerstone, you do not need to do anything as your child will automatically be registered at the designated Junior High: 

Gr. 6 Castleridge students will be enrolled at Terry Fox. 

Gr. 6 Cornerstone students will be enrolled at EITHER Terry Fox or Ian Bazalgette (you should have received notification about the lottery designations). 

-If your grade 6 child will be moving out of Castleridge or Cornerstone before the start of the 2026-27 school year, please notify the main office and we can support the transition.

-If your child is in grade 6 and is in EES or PLP, information about placements for 2026-27 will be shared with you in the coming months.

April 10: Mon/Wed kinder attends 

April 11: Fun Lunch orders due (IHOP) 

April 14-15: Individual and class photo days 

April 16: Fun Lunch (IHOP) 

April 17: Tues/Thurs kinder attends 

April 24: NO SCHOOL – professional learning day for staff
