Dear OSG Families,

We are enjoying this unusually mild weather lately! With the melting snow, however, comes puddles and mud. Please pack extra socks in your child's backpack as we have many soggy feet after playing outside at lunchtime.

School Council

Our next School Council meeting is tomorrow, Monday, February 2 at 6:00 PM. You can join us in person at the school or online by using this link: Join the meeting now

Please note that this meeting is with the School Council Executive, other parents and guardians and school administration. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn what is happening in classrooms and around the school and provide your feedback about how to make our school better. We would love to see you there!

Healthy Eating – We Need Your Help!

We have had many issues recently with students bringing candy, gum and sugary drinks to school and sharing them with others during school time.

At CBE and OSG, we are focused on healthy eating and nutrition at school. To support this, please be sure your child is not bringing candy, gum and sugary drinks such as pop to school. We also strongly discourage students from sharing food of any kind with others as we have several students in the school with severe allergies to these items and other foods.

Wednesday, February 25 - Pink Shirt Day

Please join us by wearing a PINK shirt on February 25! The focus of this day is to remind students of the importance of working together and treating others with dignity and respect.

Fees and Waivers

Please visit the Fees and Waivers page on the CBE website for information about the fees you are assigned for each child and how to pay them.

No child is ever denied access to an education in the CBE because of an inability to pay. The CBE has a waiver process for families who can’t afford to pay the fees. Visit our Waivers page for more information and the documents required as proof of income or extraordinary circumstance.

Any family needing a waiver is encouraged to apply to the City of Calgary Fair Entry Program to prove income for a CBE waiver, as well as access other benefits of the program. This is optional for families and the CBE will continue to accept other approved documents as proof of income.

Note | Waiver applications are available through your MyCBE account.
